THE STEEPLE

Drumlithie was originally a weaving village. The steeple was built to summon the weavers to work. Nowadays the bell is only rung at Hogmanay or when a local lass gets married.

It is a local joke that the villagers are so proud of their wee steeple that they take it indoors when it rains.
