DICK GAUGHAN - "SAIL ON"
This was Dick Gaughan's first solo album for several years. It is long overdue but certainly worth waiting for and in our opinion quite stunning.
The album contains eleven songs, chosen with care and quietly recorded in Edinburgh during March and April 1996.
Session musicians chosen by Dick include: Patsy Seddon & Mary McMaster (harps & backing vocals): Rab Handleigh (keyboard & piano); Fred Morrison (pipes); Alan Thomson (bass); Mike Travis & John Henderson (drums); Dick plays accoustic and electric guitars.

Hamish Henderson's
"Freedom Come all Ye"
Allan Taylor's
"Land of the North Wind"
Jagger & Richard's "Ruby Tuesday"
Brian McNeill:
"No Gods & Precious Few Heroes"
Murphy & Quattro's
"Geronimo's Cadillac"

Tracks include:

Jagger & Richards' "Ruby Tuesday"
Pete Seeger's
"Waist Deep in Old Muddy"
Richard Thompson's
"1952 Vincent Black Lightning"
And by Dick himself:
"Son of Man""No Cause for Alarm"
& "Sail On"

The sleeve paintings are by Dick's ex-Five Hand Reel buddy, Bobby Eaglesham. The album was recorded at Hart Street Studios, Edinburgh, by Roy Ashby.
